There is no better guide to understanding color

I first checked this book out of my local library and loved it so much I kept it for almost a year. I returned it the day after my Amazon copy arrived and the fine was worth every penny. I had struggled with my ability to produce watercolors that I liked. This book changed everything. Through a mixture (no pun intended) of theory and exercises, it helped me understand how to achieve perfect results. It is a constant reference. I have simply found no better book on understanding color.

Great for understanding Color properties

This is a standard book if you want to understand about color, and color properties.
I highly recommend this book if you either are or an aspiring artist, sewer, photographer, or anything in the arts.
She explains a lot about color, and the relationship colors have, including additive, subtractive, and about the color wheels.
Worthwhile book to have.

Excellent information shared clearly; good even just to read if you don't know anything about color.

I cannot say enough good about this book. Being new to color mixing and understanding color in the "painting" world, I needed solid, basic information; it is not only there but done intelligently and clearly. She is asking you to use acrylics in the exercises to simplify the process, but I have actually started with watercolors and am still getting what I need in the way of a good learning experience. Have learned how the brain changes what we are actually seeing, how colors influence each other when in proximity, and all the color wheel basics. I bought a used copy so I could mark it up! I will be using this info in my fiber work from now on!
